Gramercy Tavern will welcome Chef Mingoo Kang of Mingles—named Best Restaurant in Korea 2017 by the San Pellegrino ‘50 Best’—to our kitchen for a collaborative dinner on Monday, September 25.

Having trained under three-Michelin Starred Chef Martin Berasategui in San Sebastian, Kang is celebrated for his signature style of Korean cuisine, rooted in the nation’s culinary history and broadened by the chef’s international experience. At Mingles, Kang’s food begins with jang, the fermented soybean paste that comprises the foundation of Korean cooking—and builds flavor with pickled vegetables, vinegars, and a diversity of Korean grains and vegetables, with nods to Japanese, Spanish, and French influence.

Kang and Chef Michael Anthony will prepare a six-course dinner exploring the interplay of modern Korean and modern American cooking, beginning with pre-dinner cocktails and snacks, and with wine and beverage pairings throughout the meal.
